RIDGID | NXT GEN

Built for the work. Designed for everything between.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

A cordless 9-gallon wet/dry vacuum developed for the RIDGID 18V platform, focused on improving transportation, storage, and accessory organization. The final concept uses a low-profile form, integrated onboard storage, a flip-up carry handle, and a retractable suitcase-style handle to make a large-capacity vacuum easier to move and store.

01 / COMMERCIAL CONTEXT

A large-capacity vacuum has to move, too.

The RIDGID 18V brief places transportation, storage, and accessory organization at the center of the product. The starting point is the work around the work: carrying, packing, and keeping tools together.

02 / PRODUCT ARCHITECTURE

Give every accessory a place.

The low-profile body combines a 9-gallon capacity with integrated onboard storage. The architecture is organized around how the vacuum and its accessories travel as one product.

REFLECTION

Utility works best when it feels effortless.

RIDGID challenged me to solve practical problems through product architecture, storage, and transport. The project reinforced how much thoughtful details can improve the experience of using a large, functional product.
